Dr. Darryl Kan graduated from Dartmouth College in New Hampshire in 1982 and received his M.D. from the University of Southern California in 1986. After receiving his M.D., Dr. Kan was a general surgery intern at University of Southern California and Los Angeles County Medical Centers, where he stayed on to complete a four-year residency in orthopedic surgery. His residency was followed by a one-year fellowship training in orthopedic sports medicine at the world-renowned Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic in Inglewood, California. From 1982-1986, Dr. Kan played in the NFL as a quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers and San Diego Chargers.
Dr. Kan specializes in the treatment of sports-related injuries. He serves as orthopedic consultant for the University of Hawaii Department of Athletics. In addition, Dr. Kan is a member of the University of Hawaii Medical School faculty, serving as Assistant Clinical Professor in orthopedic sports medicine.
